After Tromsø the next morning we should dock again in the Lofoten, in Reine, and visit a small fishing village there. But then the sea was rougher than expected and the captain ultimately decided not to dock because the harbor was rather narrow. So we continued on and had one more day completely on the ship than originally planned.
To compensate, we went to a fjord that wasn't on the program and were able to see and enjoy the fjord landscape and a glacier. Directly behind the strip along the shore it is still really winter and snow, especially when you move away from the sea and head inland. In the evening we passed the Arctic Circle again, and we had a clear, cold night with a full moon, great views of the landscape (mountains: “The 7 Sisters”) and the northern lights/polar lights to observe.
The next day the plan continued in a similar way with a trip along the coast. In between there was always a tasting on the deck, in the first week cod, recently crabs from the north, and now it was International Waffle Day. The recent crossing of the Arctic Circle was celebrated with a cod liver oil tasting...
Today we drove along the long Nordfjord in the morning, with wonderful weather we had a lot to see. Now it was time for a shore leave again. In Olden, at the end of the fjord, there was a shuttle to a cable car in Loen and thus an excursion with a short hike in the snowy landscape.
