Hello.
Arrival in Rotorua. We initially explored the city a bit and now we call it Smelly City. The central areas smell of hydrogen sulfide almost everywhere, and you can find several small steaming spots throughout. We then walked along the lake. There is a particularly active area near the Polynesian Spa. The water here is acidic and cloudy due to kaolin. The numerous birds swimming here, however, seem more interested in the warm water.
After that, we went to our accommodation and from there to Skyline Rotorua. Here, you can try various fun activities. We were lucky that a mountain biking event was taking place. We took the gondola up the mountain and went down with summer toboggans (luge). Of course, people over 1.90 m are clearly disadvantaged again, where to put the legs?!
The thrilling conclusion of the day ended with a visit to the Night Market (street food) at a Mexican restaurant.
