We spend a wonderfully quiet night at Karavostasi Beach. Even in the morning, all you can hear is the sound of the waves. We take it slow and enjoy watching the waves come and go. Everything here feels very calming.
The drive to the ferry port in Igoumenitsa is delightfully varied, and we catch glimpses of the coastline dotted with many bays.
In Igoumenitsa, we treat ourselves to a snack at a café before our ferry to Corfu departs at 13:15.
Our first destination in Corfu is the Lefkimmi Salt Flats. A wetland known for good birdwatching, including flamingos. However, aside from a few seagulls and herons, we only catch a glimpse of one flamingo in the distance.
Next, we head to Chlomos, a sleepy mountain village with narrow streets and a beautiful view of the lagoon of Korission.
After another hour of driving, we arrive in Gouvia (a few kilometers north of Corfu Town), where we go out to eat before we set up camp at the marina.
