On Mt. Ainos

We wake up early today because we want to go to Mt. Ainos. The drive turns out to be surprisingly easy. We park Nuggy on the way. That was a good decision, as the hiking parking lot is full.

During the first kilometers of our tour, we encounter many loggers who are busy removing dead trees. It's quite a tough and dangerous job with this slope.

Especially the second half of the trail is very beautiful and untouched. Unfortunately, the mountain frequently shrouds its peak in clouds, so we only catch glimpses of the sea now and then. We linger at the summit for just a few minutes due to the damp coolness in the clouds.

In the evening, we set up our camp at the campsite in Argostoli. Unfortunately, it is not in good condition. Moreover, we are swarmed by mosquitoes. Thankfully, the delicious dinner at the beach tavern mostly makes up for it.
