We set off very early for Fort William this morning. Yesterday we were told at the tourist information that if we want a ticket for the Jacobite Steam Train, we have to be at the train station very early. Finally, we decided to get a ticket for Saturday and then head to the Isle of Skye, which is our next holiday destination. After successfully booking seats, we went for breakfast. Interestingly, we found a very good meal in a church converted into a bouldering and climbing hall. After that, we visited the Old Inverlochy Castle, a picturesque ruin that Queen Victoria visited hundreds of years ago. Finally, we drove to Nevis Range with the cable car. Nevis Range is a plateau below Ben Nevis with a restaurant, 2 hiking trails, and a beautiful view. We spent the rest of the day at Loch Linnhe playing in the water and washing our first load of laundry.
