Friday morning, 7:50 am. After just one week, I am back in the truck. This time we are on our way to Etosha National Park. It is 430km from Windhoek to Okaukuejo, where our campsite is. We are a large group of 25 people (3 Germans, 3 guides, and 19 Norwegians).
I have been awake again since shortly after 5 am and wonder why my body just doesn't want to sleep longer right now. As a morning person, I enjoy the peace in the morning, love waiting for the sunrise, and prefer to be ready much too early than too late. The only downside is that I am always very tired early in the evening, when the others are not yet thinking about sleep.
Now that we are on the way, I am of course looking forward to the next few days and am curious to see what we will see. On such safaris, you always need a bit of luck, especially because the rainy season is not really the best time. But to my delight, the weather forecast, which looked very bad at the beginning of the week, has improved significantly ☀️ with expected temperatures of 37 degrees, I will certainly suffer a lot 😉
