It mostly rained. In addition to treating wounds on 2 young stallions, we spent the day with the mares again. They are becoming more trusting and now allow themselves to be touched. Out of 7 horses, we are able to halter and lead 5. With the 5 that we can halter, we practice what a horse needs to be able to do in our world: stand, give hooves, 'have something around the belly' (later saddle, lunge girth, etc.), 'bridle'. We are still working with the other two on being able to relax in our presence and sniff the halter and rope without having to put them on immediately. We are already allowed to groom, rest, and take care of their fur on the second day with all of them. After a whole day of observing, reflecting, making contact, and experimenting, we were able to get to know the mares 'personally' today.
