The Peace Park
August 6, 1945 at 8:15 a.m.: America drops the first of two atomic bombs on Hiroshima to force Japan's surrender. The following day, the second bomb is dropped on Nagasaki....

The castle is not far from Peace Park. It was destroyed in the bombing and then rebuilt. The style is actually the same as the other castles. However, the facade is paneled with wood. However, I do not know if this was already before the war and only a cost-saving measure. In any case, it looks beautiful. The view from the tower is not so spectacular. But that is probably because Hiroshima is not exactly the most beautiful city. Almost like Ludwigshafen :D
On our city map, we randomly discovered a Japanese garden that is only 10 minutes away from the castle - the Shukkeien. And we were not disappointed. A huge and beautiful garden that should actually be mentioned in every travel guide. Here you can let your soul dangle :)
