Now we are heading to Nikko on a train with a nice seat pattern. The weather was also very fitting for the mountains that unfold before you. From the Nikko station, there is a lovely view of the tranquility of the mountains and the calm of the thick fog.

Next, we will visit the many shrines and temples located in Nikko. In the past, it was also common in Japan to practice a combination of Buddhism and Shintoism. However, at some point, a strict separation was established in Japan, which required the different structures in Nikko to clearly separate from one another.
There are many different buildings to admire, and it is also well visited.

If you take the bus up the many winding roads, you will encounter Lake Chuzenji. Nearby is the impressive Kegon Waterfall. The Futarasan Shrine is also close by, and from there you can climb the mountain that lies behind it.

However, that would have been too much, so instead I grabbed a delicious Yuba curry. Yuba is the skin that forms as a byproduct during tofu production.
