From Cologne to the Belgian border, Day 1

Day 1, July 18, 2023, started at 9:00 a.m., arrived at 5:30 p.m., very exhausting because of 81 km and almost 1100 meters of altitude. We avoided crossing through Cologne, rode our bikes to Buchheim, took the Line 18 there, got off in Brühl, and from there went through Weilerswist, Euskirchen, Kommern, Mechernich, Kall, past Wildenburg, until Giescheid. We can feel it in our legs on the first day. However, a very lovely accommodation in a village near Hellenthal, with ice-cold Bitburger Pils in the accommodation's fridge.
