The journey begins, off to the car with Dad, Mom, and Katrin. I said goodbye to my best friends at home, who are on their way to Mallorca. It was a very beautiful moment, but...

So, I caught up on some sleep and slept until 12:30. But now my stomach is rumbling, so off to the city with the MRT, treated myself to a nice portion of spicy noodles at an Indian food stand, and then off to the Gardens by the Bay.

I must say, Singapore is already impressing me. Such a clean city, friendly people everywhere, but also a very large security and police presence in the city.

The Gardens by the Bay, an attraction in Singapore that you must see. A botanical garden, so many plants, and a wonderful view of the city.

After the Gardens, I continued strolling through the city, past the Merlion (Eng. mermaid & lion) statue, a mythical creature and the guardian of Singapore.

On my way, I spoke to two women who were speaking German, one from Austria and one from FFB. I took a photo and what a coincidence, both of them know an old training master Mr. Hötschl from BMW Dingolfing. The world is small! On the rest of my way, I walked in the middle of the race track, where Formula 1 cars had been racing just 12 sins ago. I have to say, it's a really cool feeling.

But then fatigue overtook me and I decided to go to bed after the very extensive walk. Before falling asleep, I booked a highly rated hostel in Cairns for the first 3 nights, the Gilligan's Backpackers.
