Bilbao - before the first stage of the Camino del Norte!

On Friday, the ICE was supposed to go directly from Bochum to Frankfurt Airport. We didn't leave on time because we had a technical malfunction. In Essen, I had to change trains. Fortunately, another ICE came right away. It also went directly to Frankfurt Airport without any transfer. The flight was very pleasant. I arrived in Bilbao around noon. You can take a bus from the airport to the city center. I checked into the hotel and then set out to explore the city. The Guggenheim Museum attracted me like a magnet. The building is amazing. I even visited the Guggenheim Museum and wondered why there were no pictures of me hanging there. One painting was completely black with a white spot. If I had painted such a picture in art class, the teacher would have called my parents to ask if I had any trauma to deal with. Well, it’s just art!

On Sunday, I felt like I walked all around Bilbao. I particularly enjoyed the old town with its narrow streets and beautiful old houses. You can also take a nice walk along the riverside. By the afternoon, I was completely tired and rested at the hotel. I didn't go out anymore. That night, there was a strong thunderstorm. I sat up straight in bed but was also totally fascinated :-).

I'm about to start my first tour! I'm very excited. It's really cloudy. So, perfect hiking weather! Oh, I was often asked how heavy my backpack is... 4.7 kg!!!
