Well, I spontaneously decided yesterday that this should be my last stage. The homesickness is growing stronger, and I want to go home to my loved ones. I have booked a return flight to Düsseldorf for this coming Thursday.
My last accommodation in Camango was beautiful, and the owners were incredibly kind. Maite baked me a cake as a farewell gift for my bus journey to Santander. I thought that was really sweet, and the cake was very delicious.
With a heavy heart, I set off in the morning towards Ribadesella. I had planned to walk very slowly to truly enjoy the last steps on the Camino. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out. I arrived in Ribadesella relatively early. Since I had plenty of time before my bus ride, I took a thorough look around the town. With a tearful and a smiling eye, I watched the pilgrims who continued on their way along the Camino.
My bus arrived on time, and after about two and a half hours, I was already in Santander. From the bus stop, I had to walk another three kilometers to my hotel, which was no problem at all for me :-).
Today, I took the ferry to Somo early in the morning and spent a wonderful day at the beach. I think I will also go to the beach again tomorrow and chill out.
It was a great experience for me to walk a few kilometers on the Camino del Norte. I met nice people and saw beautiful landscapes. A fantastic journey is coming to an end ☺️.
I was asked how many kilometers it had been in total ..... just a moment ... almost 300 KM! Adios .....
Best regards
