02:30 AM - Frodo has finally gotten rid of his ring in Mount Doom and we were able to go to sleep. However, not for long, because the alarm clock rang at 07:15 AM. The remaining documents and small items were packed and the backpack for the flight was labeled and sealed.
After breakfast, we headed to the airport in Frankfurt am Main. The check-in process went smoothly. The lovely employee at the counter took enough time and organized a whole row for just the two of us. #legroom ;)
After saying goodbye to family and friends, we headed towards the security check and just a few minutes later we waited for boarding - and here, too, everything went quickly and boom, we were already on the plane!
For us, all of this happened too fast for us to understand what is happening. Only now did we realize how long it has been since we last flew. But now we had 11 hours of flight ahead of us. How quickly or not quickly can so many hours pass?
We found our seats on the big plane, stowed away our carry-on luggage and jackets, and first checked which movies are being offered. The diverse selection gave us hope of being well entertained during the upcoming flight time. Shortly after, we received a menu, revealing what culinary delights await us on the flight to HongKong. Let's just say: it sounded very adventurous. ;)
The plane rolled towards the runway and the first half of the long journey began ...
To come back to the question from above - 'How quickly or not quickly can so many hours pass?' We'll tell you: they passed in the blink of an eye. Three movies, two meals, and the attempt to catch up on sleep were enough to make the time pass faster than we thought. (PS: We only made the attempt, because we didn't sleep a second.)
With Asian punctuality at 06:50 AM local time, we landed safely in HongKong, looking refreshed.
But how do you spend 11 hours layover in HongKong?
