Another addition to yesterday:
The cinema was not great. They have a wonderful old cinema with a program worth seeing. Unfortunately, they are currently on vacation.
So, I watched the thriller 'Ma' at a Cineplex.
No, you don't need to!
But now:
That was something today!
Originally, I wanted to go to the beach by boat. But I would have had to wait 90 minutes for the next ship to come. So, I spontaneously decided on an alternative:
A cruise on a tourist boat!
But this was not just any boat, it was a Roman galley. And as they told me when I boarded the ship, the 30-minute tour was completely free, I just had to order a drink.
Spectacular, I thought to myself.
But when I looked at the menu, I was disappointed:
A cup of coffee for 6 euros! 😂
In Copenhagen or at Pariser Platz in Berlin, okay.
But coffee in a paper cup at those prices, I've only seen that in... ahem... not me, but a colleague's friend's sister's husband who knows someone who... you get the idea.
I was confused. This can't be true. Southerners would never cheat stupid village tourists.
Okay, there's a minimum charge of 5 euros listed at the bottom of the menu.
Sure, I could have just ordered a cappuccino and enjoyed the ride.
But I come from a family of displaced people.
It's still deeply ingrained in me. Coffee for 6 euros on a Roman galley, I just can't! I can't bring myself to do it.
After studying the menu extensively, I placed my order:
'2 bottles of mineral water to go, and 2 shots, please!' That suited me just fine, and I came exactly to 5 euros!
I chose ouzo, the Greek classic, and rum, a drink that sailors like to have on a long voyage.
Oh, by the way... 'No beer before four,' doesn't apply to liqueurs, so I enjoyed a wonderful boat trip in beautiful weather.
Oh, how good I felt and how relaxed I was when we docked again around 1 p.m.
I strolled along the promenade in the radiant midday sun, feeling very comfortable and warm in my heart. The sun was laughing even more joyfully than usual, and the clouds were a bit fluffier. The light summer dresses of the female students were a touch airier, the necklines of the ladies were a bit lower, and their curves were rounder than usual. And I was thinking to myself that it's actually nonsense to go to work on Mondays!
If anyone claims that alcohol is not a solution, I call out to them: You've never had liqueurs on a Roman galley, party pooper!
Thanks, my new friend alcohol!
Three hours later:
I ate something, bought postcards, and treated myself to an ice cream.
It's time for a coffee at 'Palermo'. ☕
A shrill scream!
Panic!
Shortness of breath!
My phone-tablet is gone! 💀
20 minutes later:
It was on the counter at the postcard shop!
Damn you, devil alcohol!!! 👹
