Day 11 - 30.06.2024 Wells Gray National Park

Published: 01.07.2024

Here in the hotel we were able to enjoy breakfast again - even if everything here is not particularly sustainable with disposable cups, plates, and cutlery (at least recyclable).

Unfortunately, it rained quite heavily in the morning. Nevertheless, we set out and visited the 4 top waterfalls.

  1. Waterfall: Helmcken Falls. The highest waterfall in the area at 141 m high and 23 m wide. Unfortunately, everything was quite foggy due to the rain. After a short hike, we were able to get a better view.
  2. Waterfall: Dawsen Falls. The lowest but widest waterfall at 20 m high and 90 m wide. It is amazing how much water flowed here.
  3. Waterfall: Moul Falls. Here we had to hike 2.9 km (and then back). 35 m high, 9 m wide. We could get close to the waterfall and got wet from the spray (but we were warned).
  4. Waterfall: Spahats Falls. 73 m high, 8 m wide. The canyon around it is also impressive.

By the way, we saw a black bear again today, which quickly crossed the road in front of our car (I couldn't take a photo in time and it quickly disappeared back into the forest).

In the evening, we had dinner at the restaurant again and a mixed meat grill plate for me - Delicious :-)
