๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ Santiago de Compostela

Published: 03.09.2019

From our campsite, the dream destination of all Christian pilgrims is not far away and is easily reachable by car. We have the ๐Ÿšฒ back on board and plan to park in a town before our destination and then ride the ๐Ÿšฒ, preferably on a pilgrim path, to our destination. As we search the internet for pilgrim paths along the way, we cannot find any quickly.

Spontaneously, we drive to a different, unplanned small town. While looking for a parking space, we get lost in a forest and suddenly encounter pilgrims. We decide to join them - the pilgrim path has been found, we just need to find a parking space ... wonder if someone had a hand in that ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜Š.

We park the car at a shopping center, prepare the bikes, and ride the very beautiful pilgrim path to our destination. Along the way, we pass many pilgrims who clearly have been traveling for a long time.

Just before Santiago de Compostela, the pilgrim path forks into two directions and we take the path towards the Cathedral.

The pilgrim path abruptly merges into a newly built neighborhood and there are no more signs or the well-known guideposts.

We simply continue on the road until we come across a city park with many pilgrims. We leave the ๐Ÿšฒ there and walk through the old and beautiful streets towards the Cathedral. Inside the Cathedral, there is a huge line of pilgrims and tourists who want to see the tomb of Saint James - we decide not to stand in line.

After a short break and some shopping, we ride the pilgrim path back to the car.

It was another beautiful day - visiting Santiago de Compostela was worth it.

At the end of the day, we visited the Spanish Lidl, which is tailored to the needs of each country - here, for example, they have frozen seafood without packaging, sold by the kilo ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š
