Today we visited a beautiful little town called Bandera. It is known in the area as the Cowboy City.
As soon as you enter the town, you immediately notice the houses. Some of them are decorated in Western style. The small boutiques also have a very special atmosphere and the people are very friendly. We found out that there is a motorcycle gathering happening this weekend. That explains the hundreds of bikers.
We had dinner at a saloon-style restaurant called Busbee's Bar-B-Que. They serve delicious burgers here accompanied by Texan music. The walls are filled with old license plates, antique farming tools, and all sorts of things.
However, to truly experience the cowboy feeling, it is probably better to visit one of the many ranches around the town. We were recommended to do so, but unfortunately, we don't have enough time. The ranch owners offer horseback riding and many other activities.
One thing that was very special was the abundance of butterflies. Thousands of them were flying through the air. It was a beautiful spectacle.
Tomorrow we will continue our journey to San Antonio, so we have to pack our bags again.
