Arrival in Birmingham

After a train journey of nearly two hours, I have arrived in Birmingham. At first glance, Birmingham reminds me a little of London, which is not surprising as it is one of the fastest growing cities in the UK.

Next, I went to the nearby Birmingham Central Backpackers with a fantastic garden overlooking an archway under a bridge ;-) However, this is also the first place in the UK where I have discovered that football matches are shown on a big screen instead of tiny TVs! I checked in just in time for the Switzerland-Sweden match, a slight disappointment... I will probably support England now, simply because I am here (assuming they survive the extremely tough match against Colombia :-D).
