One of my most beautiful stays here in Iceland was in Husafell.
Very nice camping site in the middle of a spectacular nature.
The LANGJÖKULL Glacier, the second largest in Iceland and also in Europe.
The HRAUNFOSSAR Waterfall, which springs from the lava stone.
THE CAVE, the largest lava cave in the world.
Valleys with hot springs and warm rivers for bathing.
INTO THE GLACIER. Expedition trucks with 8-wheel drive take you up to the Langjökull Glacier and then across the glacier into a man-made ice cave 400 meters deep into the glacier. Quite an expensive affair for going into an 'artificial' ice cave and being rocked back down after a 30-minute stay.
I did it all on my motorcycle. I rode up to the edge of the glacier at over 2,000 meters. A truly adventurous trip with beautiful views. 4x4 vehicles or off-road motorcycles are essential. A pretty washed-out gravel road with large boulders.
Countless trekking activities and mountain bike trails. A paradise for outdoor enthusiasts!
