Today the alarm clock rang at 7 o'clock because we planned to drive into Bryce Canyon NP as early as possible. By the way, cows woke us up this morning. After breakfast in our cabin, we set off directly. The Bryce Canyon brochure recommends driving through all the viewing points first and then driving to the desired points from behind. That's how we did it and started to experience Bryce Canyon. Wow, what you see there can't be fully captured in photos. When we went through all the viewing points, we came to the two most popular points, the Sunset Point and the Sunrise Point. The parking spaces at the Sunset Point were full, so we drove to the Sunrise Point. Both points offer a panoramic view of the amphitheater. You just stand there and can't grasp what you see. No lens in the world can depict it as vividly as you see it in front of you. You can see the attempts of it in my photos. From the Sunrise Point, we walked to the Sunset Point with a view of the amphitheater. We marveled, took pictures, and so on. Later on the way back to the Sunrise Point, we packed up the cameras and just enjoyed the view. So far, it was one of the most impressive sights I have ever seen.
In no time, 5 hours passed. We took a short break in the lodge to go back to the park for sunset later. Before that, we had dinner - our little town has the choice between burgers and pizza - we chose pizza. (I hope the selection in Las Vegas will be a bit better and more nutritious. Man, why do Americans eat so much junk!)
Arriving at Bryce Canyon, we went to the visitor center and the Inspiration Point where all the parking spaces were still full in the afternoon.
As a highlight, we went to the Sunset Point for sunset. The sun doesn't set there (but rather rises there), but you could still see the red rocks glowing in the beautiful light.
Today I have a few more pictures in the hope of somehow conveying the atmosphere of Bryce Canyon. I think you just have to see this place live and in color.
Tomorrow we leave nature and go to Las Vegas. Originally, we wanted to drive through Zion National Park, but we decided against it for various reasons, mainly because of the lack of time. Now we will explore Las Vegas from tomorrow evening until Friday morning. Actually, I never wanted to go there, but first, it's on the way, and second, you can still experience some natural spectacles from there. So off to Las Vegas tomorrow!
