On Wednesday, I celebrated my 23rd birthday, 13,500km away from home.
Thanks to Padi and Ross, I had a great day. Ross gave me a special birthday gift, a bottle of vodka. 😉 He also wrote me a very sweet card (even though he can only write with a lot of effort and a pen between his wrists). Ross's parents also gave me a card and scratch cards (won $5 *yeah*). In the evening, Padi took me out to eat Barramundi (a fish that is only available here in the Northern Territory and is considered a specialty). Afterwards, we watched the Rugby Game of the Year and bet a little on the Northern Territory Lotto, unfortunately without success.
I think it was one of the birthdays where I cried the most... partly because I was sad and touched by very loving birthday wishes, and also overwhelmed with tears of joy. All in all, a strange feeling.
Now I am a year older again. 🥂🍾✌
Thank you very much again to all the well-wishers and also for the occasional gift. ♥️ I was very happy. ♥️
