Church of Boyana

On the way back, we made another stop on the outskirts of Sofia. There stands a small church from the 11th or 13th century, which is of course decorated with frescoes. What is unique here is that there are frescoes from the 13th century, and beneath them, when the plaster peels off, remnants of frescoes from the 11th century can still be seen. Sensational!! Of course, this church is also part of the World Heritage. Unfortunately, no photos are allowed, so here is only the view of the exterior. But it's lovely too!
