Well, what can one write when they haven't achieved a good placement? 😪

Then you say that the preliminary round group with a total of 6 fencers was very strong. Yes, it was. Nevertheless, I didn’t make it easy for my opponents.

I ended up second to last ...

Two fencers from my group made it to the round of 16 (7th/8th place) - the Romanian, who I scored 3 hits against in the preliminary round, and the Brit Caron Hale, against whom I at least landed 2 hits and was a bit better prepared for her style than in Cairo.

The French woman from my group placed third.

The Italian from my group is in the final.

All of that would have been fine if I hadn't messed up my KO with a score of 7:10.

That really annoyed me because I had already been leading. I was probably just too satisfied too early ... 🙄

Now I am 17th. 😬
