9th day Graaff Reinat - Oudtshorn

Actually, Oudtshorn would just be a sleepy small town behind the mountains if it weren't for some big ostrich farms.

The golden age of ostrich farms is long gone, but the meat and leather production has become profitable again. When visiting one of these ostrich farms, we get insight into the modern use of this animal. For dinner, fresh ostrich fillet is of course also on the menu, paired with one of the local wines, and the evening is perfect.

Update: The infrastructure in South Africa, meaning roads and bridges, is all of excellent quality, even in the most remote places the road surface is okay and constantly being improved.

A word about our motorcycles, all Harleys are of the latest design and so far running without any problems. I have been riding motorcycles since I was 18 years old and have ridden many motorcycles, from off-road bikes to touring and adventure bikes.

A Harley seems to be the most suitable motorcycle for such a trip, the twins blubber so nicely and you can enjoy the scenery.
