Day 5 Hermanus - Mossel Bay

Today our journey takes us through the hilly landscape and breadbasket of South Africa. In the morning, we will visit the southernmost point of Africa, Cape Agulhas, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian Ocean. The drive continues through Swellendam, which marks the beginning of the Garden Route. In the late afternoon, we will reach the coast at Mossel Bay.

Today we have seen many upscale residential areas filled with wealth and prosperity in South Africa, but also a lot of poverty along the roadside in the townships. It is very sad that there are no solutions to improve such living conditions. And yet, the people on the roadside still wave joyfully at us when they see us drive by.
