Hi, how are you?
My name is Nadine, I am a 21-year-old Berliner. A true Eastern German, traveling from my position at the Robert Koch Institute as an office management clerk to the NOW Group Organization for an Erasmusplus internship. Many applications, signatures, and emails had to be done, but now I am sitting in Belfast's best hostel and writing my first blog post about my adventure.
Speaking English is exhausting. Many new impressions overwhelm you in the first few days. Constant tiredness is on the agenda, although that is more due to my current hostel home.
The NOW Group is a non-profit organization that works with intellectually disabled people to integrate them into the workforce.
The introduction to the exclusively lovely people at NOW lasted three days. I accompanied a group to the gym, we learned together how to process fruits optimally into fruit salad, and took a trip to the North Coast of Northern Ireland to Portrush.
Many "Nice to meet you" later and after many new names, I will be working in the finance department from the fourth day.
My first visit to an Irish pub with live music and Guinness is also one of my top moments of the first days.
Recommendation: Waking up may not be easy in a hostel, but my new acquaintances will sweeten my summer abroad.
