22.01.2023 from Mallacoota to Marlo

Published: 22.01.2023

Children how time flies, we have been on the road for 3 weeks now and have seen so much. Thank goodness everything is written down, otherwise we might forget it.

We are slowly starting our day, visiting the internet and getting dinner, and then we drive west on the Princes Highway. Our destination is the town of Marlo, which is located directly on the mouth of the Snowy River, not to be confused with the bird park Marlow in MV. We settle into the local caravan park and then start our hike along the Snowy River until it meets the Tasman Sea. The wind is blowing strongly in our faces, but it's not chilly, we try to reach the mouth barefoot, but after 2 km and the rising tide, we turn back before we have to push through the bushes. As a reward, we visit the local pub and enjoy the live country singing of a mid-sixty-year-old. It sounds good, what he's performing, at first we are the only ones applauding, that doesn't seem to be customary here, but it is gladly copied by the numerous other guests.

At the best time for dinner, the other guests of the campsite pass by our vehicle and ask what delicious meal we will be cooking tonight. Australians are very talkative.

Today we have wifi at the campsite and time to book our next destinations.
