24 days. From Sydney to Christchurch.

Just saying it sounds like quite a big deal – and that's exactly how it feels right now: excitement in my belly, a bit of thrill in my head, and that childlike curiosity that I appreciate about myself.

I'm already somewhat familiar with Sydney.

I spent the past week there for the BNI Global Convention. A full schedule, a lot of input, many people – and in between, a few first impressions of the city. I deliberately skipped many things because I knew I would be coming back soon. Now I'm really looking forward to discovering the rest of Sydney at a leisurely pace. Not between appointments, but completely relaxed – as a traveler, not as a participant.

Then it's off to the Red Centre. A place that seemingly carries all the stories of Australia within it. I'm excited to experience that vastness, that silence, that culture that you usually only know from stories. This will be quite a contrast to Sydney – but probably exactly why it will be so intense.

And then on to New Zealand.

Two weeks on the North and South Islands. Glow-Worm Caves, fjords, Maori culture – the full program. New Zealand has a magical quality for me. I feel that this country will grab me emotionally. Perhaps because it feels so different and so real.

What I know: there will be a lot of new experiences, many beautiful moments, and probably also a few that will stay with me.

And it all begins… tomorrow.

First, let's keep it grounded:

Drive to Brisbane, drop off the car, spend one last night in Australia. And then it's off to New Zealand – right into this big adventure.

There I will meet the group I'm going to be with for the next 24 days. I don't know anyone – which automatically makes it a bit more exciting.

And there's a little twist: I'm sharing a room with someone completely unknown.

No bed – just the room.

But it does have a certain charm: Two people who have never met throw themselves into a shared chaos of suitcases, wake-up times, and spontaneous evenings for four weeks.

Let's see how that turns out. I'll take it with humor – and if in doubt, earplugs and the famous stoic perspective on what really matters will help.

All in all, it feels like the night before the first day of school: You know something new is about to happen, and at the same time, you are curious enough to find that exciting.

I’m simply ready for this chapter – no matter what comes.

And I'm looking forward to it.

Down under – here I come.

Hardly has the plane touched down on New Zealand soil, those little, crazy tears well up in my eyes again. It’s that rare feeling when beauty, gratitude, and humility rise up at once. Auckland greets me with a calmness that seems almost surreal – and exactly at that moment, I realize how extraordinarily beautiful it is to be here.

On my way out of the airport, I see some images for the first time – and it hits me again: It’s unbelievably beautiful, almost hard to believe. 🌏✨

And believe me, I am an adult and “battle-tested.”
