Take me back to Ole Virginny...

Washington DC is located as a special area in the state of Maryland, a border state between the Northern and Southern states. That's why we're suddenly in the old South, in Virginia, with a river crossing. Virginia is for lovers, it says on the license plates. True, you have to be a lover to appreciate the heavy rain.

When renting our snail house, we found that kitchen utensils were not included in the price. The starter sentence should cost 100 dollars. The expression on the face of the caravan man said something like 'I wouldn't pay for that.'

So off to Walmart Supercenter in Front Royal, Virginia. Is huge the right word? Gigantic maybe? It could be bigger, but we can't think of a word for it. The prices, on the other hand, are unimaginably small. For 90 dollars we get a complete kitchen equipment with a four-piece pot set and food for three days.

So our shopping expedition was a complete success, but it's getting late again. We miss the daily goal of Roanoke by 60 km because we don't want to arrive at a campsite too late. But oh well. It will get much later and it's not until complete darkness that we find a nest after driving back and forth between Buena Vista and Natural Bridge for an hour and being sent away from a place.

In Buena Vista, the office was closed, but we were directed to the camping ground host. He came directly and was very helpful. He sent the neighbor with his parked truck away and explained the formalities to us. No dinner, but the best ice cream of the whole trip at a small wooden booth.
