Let's go for new goals. This time we are taking it with Paolo Conte - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5XSiWmaKB4&list=RDG5XSiWmaKB4&start_radio=1

After traveling as a group of seven last year, our travel party is sadly much smaller this year. Our guys Luis and Mateo, as well as our friends Manu and Dirk, are not on board this time.

Nadi, Mara, and I have departed from Berlin via Frankfurt to our first travel destination. Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, is our first stop. In preparing for the trip, I kept reading that the best thing about Bogotá is supposed to be the airport for further travel... But since it is the capital of our host country, I decided to stay for two days despite the generally negative opinions of the YouTube influencer community. I can already say that the 8 million metropolis deserves a visit. However, two days should be enough.

Basically, Bogotá is the Big Apple of South America. The city is large, loud, and full of contrasts. The rich and the poor live close to each other, just like in many big cities around the world. Historical architecture, zest for life, street art, and fancy cafés and restaurants on one side, and gray concrete, dark corners, stench, and the darker sides of life next door.

We spent our first (restless) night in Bogotá at https://habhotel.co/. The jet lag made us restless, and we were ready to go for breakfast at 7 AM. As always, the first meal was a bit excessive... one of everything, please, and the whole thing twice. ;-) Strengthened, we then went on an exploration tour of the city. The Plaza Bolivar and the surrounding areas, along with the La Candelaria neighborhood, were the destinations of our walking tour through the city. An afternoon food tour was on the program.

Colombia is not exactly known as a foodie hotspot, but the tour from https://www.beyondcolombia.com had some treats to offer. From empanadas and arepas to Colombian BBQ made from veal and capybara, a giant rodent from the guinea pig family, as well as ice cream and Arabica coffee at its best.

When the tour was over, so were we. It’s always amazing how much of the day is left when you wake up early. ;-)

Tomorrow we continue to the Coffee Triangle in Salento. We are excited and will keep you updated.
