Over the Cloud Pass to Hoi An
Our brief stay in Hué ended this morning at 9 AM. The upcoming leg took us past the Lap An Lagoon, over the Hai-Van Pass, to Da Nang and the Marble Mountains, and finally to Hoi...

Today was a free day for all travelers. The approaches varied widely, from the sleepyhead to the bookworm to the active ones, there was everything. ;-)
Before we had our first Pho of the day, the active ones started their day with an extended beach run at An Bang Beach. In the early morning, the beach section is still quite calm and therefore particularly beautiful. After breakfast, it was pool time, quiet and unremarkable. However, I would like to take this opportunity to recommend our accommodation in Hoi An. The Vina Beach Pool Villa is a small family-run hotel. With only six available rooms, you can rightfully expect a lot of peace. The location, just 300 meters from the beach, is another plus.
After all the relaxing, it was time to get a beard trim at the barber. I abide by the words of a wise man here: 'Men who take care of themselves are superior to others.' ;-) Afterwards, we headed into the city.
I already mentioned that Hoi An is known for its high density of professional tailors. In addition, you can also have shoes and leather belts custom-made. Since my wardrobe needed more suits and shirts and shoes and belts don’t go bad, a visit was somehow inevitable. Surprisingly, neither of my two ladies indicated any needs.
As I had already researched in Germany which tailor and shoemaker provide reliable quality, the corresponding shops were quickly found.
It then went quite fast to choose the fabrics, colors, cuts, as well as seams and buttons. Then measurements were taken and photos were also taken so that the executing needleworker could have a better idea of my 'luxurious body'. On Thursday is fitting, I am curious and will report back.
For dinner, we went to a recommended street food restaurant. Today's menu featured Com Ga Hoi An - a simple dish of rice, tender chicken, herbs, and a chicken broth on the side. With a spicy sambal, it was a true delight.
There wasn't much more to today.
In this sense: Strength lies in calmness.
