Today, we have reached the final stretch of our journey. The last stop is Cartagena de Indias, located on the Caribbean coast in the northern part of the country.

The approximately one-hour flight from San Andrés went smoothly, although once again it was delayed. The small island airport does offer an open waiting area, so at least we could enjoy the nice weather right up until departure. It’s quite interesting to observe how operations function at this small airport. Of course, all passengers go through checks similar to those at any airport. However, it seems that the staff here knows each other well. I can only hope so. It was notable how many individuals, either with a safety vest (in orange or neon yellow) in hand or thrown over their shoulder, walked through the security area and even onto the tarmac without greeting anyone or undergoing any checks. It’s somewhat unsurprising that San Andrés plays a significant role in the shipping of Colombian 'agricultural products'.

Upon our arrival in the port city of Cartagena, we quickly made our way to the hotel, which is located in the Getsemani district. This area is situated in the historic center of the city founded in the 16th century and is known for its vibrant atmosphere, abundant street art, and lively nightlife. We have already indulged in a small taste of all of this today.

Tomorrow, we will take the opportunity to see a bit more of everything. Hopefully, I will have more to report...
