Nachtzug

At 6:45 AM this morning, we were called for breakfast on the water. Since the schedule is quite tight, the crew pays close attention to German punctuality. 45 minutes later, it was time to put on life vests and board the dinghy, which then took us to a floating village near a fish and oyster farm. The excursion was quite nice, and there were a few beautiful photo opportunities. At the end of the little tour, we had the chance to purchase jewelry made from pearls from the local farm. However, since my ladies look great even without those round things, we graciously declined.

Back on board the junk, there was 'surprisingly' food again. While we politely enjoyed this meal with friendly smiles, the captain sailed us back to the harbor of Halong.

Then it went quickly. We switched to the well-air-conditioned vehicle that took us back to Hanoi in 2.5 hours. That was enough time to rest our eyes a bit more.

Back in Hanoi, we collected the forgotten items from the hotel and wanted to quickly stop by Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum. Unfortunately, the opening hours of the mausoleum did not match our schedule. Uncle Ho, as the old leader is affectionately called here, was not receiving visitors anymore today.

Be that as it may...It's slowly time to head to the train station. The night train to Hue departs at 7 PM from platform 9 ¾. ;-)

In that spirit: Toot Toot....
