Tag 42 - Final spurt

The Christmas thank you cards have to be finished. So today, we painted and scribbled the text in every class. The volunteers didn't have much to do. Luis blasted the whole project with Latino music and distributed the sheets dancing and singing. He is truly a bundle of good cheer. When he dances, he is happy, he declared. We put on our sunglasses and danced along. We quickly had a lot of audience. The windows don't have glass, and somebody is always standing there and looking in. When Luis and I danced a bachata, applause broke out. Oh well, that was really nothing!

Yesterday, Javier wasn't the only one who recruited someone from the family for his homework. The "Cats" were supposed to prepare a short presentation on topics like "The Benefits of Plants" or "Pet Care". They were all hopelessly overwhelmed. Half of them came to class with a prepared presentation written in an adult handwriting on a large sheet of paper. It was soooo obvious that it wasn't their own work, it was cute. Of course, they didn't know the content at all and just rattled everything off. I was amazed and pleased at how the mothers, aunts, and older siblings took up the challenge the same evening. And that there are people in some families who are capable of that.
