After every lesson, the jungle is swept, or at least that's what Luis and Gloria do. I don't know how the kids manage to do it, but there's always a lot of dirt. Especially pencil shavings, because they write with pencils and color with colored pencils. Of course, no one is supposed to just drop it on the floor, but go to the trash can...It seems like sharpening takes up quite a bit of time. Could be a tactic.

After the last lesson at 5 p.m., the floor is also mopped. Two volunteers are needed for that. And there are! Even the boys volunteer for it. And everyone does it very professionally, everyone knows how it's done. Some of them are only 8 years old. In the pictures, you can see the traditional sink, which you can find in every household and where they also wash their laundry alongside mopping the floor. Electric washing machines are clearly lower on the priority list than television sets and cell phones. I think after that come refrigerators and fans.

Today it was Hector and Daniel (see photos).

For each lesson, at least the classes with the younger children gather at the entrance gate (see photo). Everyone holds up their pencil, because if you don't have your most important accessory with you, you can't participate in the lesson. That's one of the iron rules. I haven't seen it happen even once. Seems to be working out fine.

Speaking of working out fine: Javier is doing his homework. The day before yesterday, I asked him to choose a profession and think about what, for example, a baker does by the next day. Just to get the boy talking. Yesterday, he showed me his notebook, he had even written it down! But wait, that couldn't be. Did he really think I wouldn't notice that it had been written by his older sister? But at least he understood the assignment, I was really happy about that.

Temperature pleasant 28 degrees, cloudy from time to time, light wind.

LG
