We headed to Wells Gray Provincial Park… which was not as easy at first 🤣 the GPS sent us on a gravel road that we were supposed to follow for several kilometers, nothing in sight but forest and no real internet connection 🙈. Fortunately, there was a road and a parking description included on the previously downloaded hiking route. We were completely off course. So we turned around and then followed the correct route with paved roads 😅.

Our first destination was Helmken Falls, the fourth largest waterfall in Canada. We initially couldn't find the parking lot for the hike 😅 so we first stopped at the viewpoint for scouting. There, the waterfall already looked quite impressive. The water has carved its way through the lava rock over thousands of years.

Shortly after we found our actual goal: Helmken Fall Rim Trail, 8 km long, 166 m elevation gain. A great path along the Murtle River leading to the waterfall. The view right next to the waterfall was breathtaking 😍.

Our highlight, however, was Moul Falls 😍

Via the Moul Falls Trail, 5.5 km long, 207 m elevation gain, one can reach the plunge pool of Moul Falls down a rocky path with subsequent stairs. A small path leads behind the waterfall - incredibly wonderful 🤩💦 and nicely refreshing!

When we dared to swim in the plunge pool, we were completely alone 🥰☀️ an incredible experience 🇨🇦❤️

To cap off the day, we went to eat at The Painted Turtle Restaurant, not even 100 meters from our camper. Flo had the region's flamed salmon and I had a steak. What a beautiful day 🌸🫶🏻.
