What a perfect weekend! We had so much fun :3 And perfect weather! Warm, sunny - ideal for dresses, hotpants - and of course jumpsuits ;)
We spent two and a half days out of the 4, from noon to evening, in London City. The rest of the time we spent in Brighton or Hatfield.
Of course, first of all, we went to the Tower Bridge! After taking the first selfies, we walked across the Tower Bridge to the other side of the river Thames towards Borough Market, London Bridge, Shakespeare's Globe, the Tate, and the Millennium Bridge to St. Paul's Cathedral.
After a refreshing smoothie break, we decided that the best way to enjoy this summer weather was in one of the London parks. We chose Regent's Park, and the Queen Mary's Rose Garden there (sooo beautiful! I was completely blown away and took one photo after another - much to Esther's incomprehension and annoyance ("You're not 60 and at a garden show or something!"). But what can I do, roses are just beautiful! :) And then they all have such fitting names too! :D Enjoy the photos ;)
In the following days, we went to Big Ben, crossed Westminster Bridge to the London Eye Pier. There we found a wonderful bench in the sun and admired the skills of a really good live musician who performed right under the London Eye with a view of Big Ben. We sat there for about 2 hours, but it was absolutely worth it! After that, we went to Notting Hill, where we once again searched for the blue door from the Julia Roberts movie...
Whether it was at Kings Cross, on Oxford Street, or walking somewhere in between, this weekend was just so perfect! :)
To put it in a nutshell: Dear Esther, thank you so much for visiting me in London! I was very happy to see you again and explore London with you. It was a wonderful, fun Ascension Day weekend full of laughter and newly collected insider jokes! In short: Yes. Fabulous! :D :*
Take care!
Yours,
Leonie
