Murten: Bike tour, 2nd-3rd June 2018

The bulli was parked at Murten train station and I was able to pick up the pre-reserved e-bike. After a short introduction, we were already on our way. The route took us through fields and forests along Lake Murten. We took a short break on the lakeshore in Vully-les-Lac - Salavaux, at the sandy beach, before heading up Mont Vully.

The path wound its way up the hill among vineyards. Berni pedaled hard, I switched the e-bike to 'Sport' mode and cycled up easily 😝...

Once at the top, there was a magnificent view of Lake Murten, Lake Biel, and Lake Neuchâtel. Of course, we took a break on a bench here and enjoyed the beautiful panorama!

Then we sped down the hill and after a total of almost 30 km, we arrived back in Murten. In a beautiful beach restaurant with palm trees, we treated ourselves to a piece of apple pie and a refreshing drink. We watched the many people on stand-up paddleboards and boats. The swimming area and the harbor were nearby. There were cheerful people everywhere.

Afterwards, we went up to the old town. I could use my 'Sport Program' again and was up there in no time. Right in front of the entrance gate to the old town, there was an old VW Beetle and a bulli 😍, drawing attention to the 'VW Meeting Murten' from August 17th-19th, 2018. 

Too soon, we were back at the train station and returned the e-bike. It was so much fun! 👍

In the evening, we were invited by the 'Berner-Stamm' of the TR Club to a barbecue evening. It was nice to see so many familiar faces again. It was a very cozy evening and some people were curiously looking at the bulli.

We were allowed to stay overnight at club colleagues' home and were surprised in the morning with a large brunch buffet for 8 people. There was also a lot of chatting and eating until we could start our journey home again. 😊

This time, the route took us along Lake Biel to Biel, Romont, Grenchen, and Solothurn to Wangen an der Aare. There, we had a short picnic by the Aare River, near the wooden bridge. Then we continued via Herzogenbuchsee to Rothrist. There, we got on the highway and leisurely drove home at 100 km/h... 😊

As soon as you sit in the bulli and start driving, you feel like you're on vacation!    🚐💨🌴☀️🍦😎
