First of all, an apology. The Wi-Fi network here is so bad that it takes me forever to upload pictures. I'll catch up as soon as we have a better network, promise.
Well, that was a fantastic end to the day yesterday. We had a fantastic meal at the hotel restaurant.
It thundered for hours in the evening. I went to the window several times during the night because it felt like everything was underwater. Probably a result of being affected by flooding multiple times.
If yesterday was L'Alpe d'Huez, today we had to conquer the Galibier. The first 6 kilometers were steep uphill. At least 10% incline from 340m to just under 1200m. That was exhausting. Up there, just below the Petit Ballon, we had to refill our sugar tank with a cola in an alpine pasture.
From this point on, we descended back into the valley again. Since we are staying in a hotel slightly off the main route today, we ended up having almost 20 kilometers on our legs again. But it looks like we will need to walk less tomorrow.
No one was at the hotel, but as soon as we had the key in our hand, we could treat ourselves to a cool, isotonic drink at the bar after a shower. Our two friends from Essen, Tina and Guido, told us a lot about beekeeping. Very interesting, as I am also considering doing this. Now a siesta and then a dinner at the hotel restaurant awaits us. By the way, it's only 3 kilometers to our vacation home, which we will move into on Saturday.
