The Ballinstadt is an emigrant museum in Hamburg Veddel that was inaugurated in 2007 and was built on the site of the former emigrant halls. It was built over 100 years after the Hapag shipowner Albert Ballin had the first emigrant halls built in 1901. In three faithfully reconstructed buildings, Ballinstadt addresses emigration via Hamburg, particularly to America, as well as migration movements from the 16th century to the present.
In the evening we went to the musical Frozen. Wonderful scenes, great singers and a beautiful story. Was worth it!
