Wanaka, the tree in the lake

Woke up fresh and lively today and headed west. We were slowed down by the weather, it had snowed overnight, but I didn't want to put on snow chains, so we took the route around the mountains. Therefore, we skipped crossing the pass.

Instead, we saw bungee ropes at a bridge and waited for some jumpers, 44 meters down, not into the water, as it was too cold for everyone.

One more stop at an old gold mining site for coffee, unfortunately, we didn't find any gold even though there is supposed to be some there.

Then we arrived at Wanaka to see the famous tree in the water that suddenly grew there about 80 years ago and......, it's standing on dry land. There is not enough water in the lake, but it's still beautiful to look at.

To conclude the day, we had a sauna visit, whirlpool, and then off to bed.😴😴
