Bula!
Bula for my second post about the Blue Lagoon Resort, because one just wasn't enough. In this second post, a few more pictures of the various smaller and free activities that could be done on the island.
For example, there was basket and bracelet weaving, a coconut ceremony where a coconut was freshly harvested and prepared, and a short hike to the island's summit.

Especially preparing and tasting the SUPER fresh coconut was a delight and cool to see. It tastes completely different from the coconut shavings that we can buy in Europe. When these shavings are packed tightly in the hand with enough grease, the coconut milk simply flows out, and we could taste it directly.
The entire process took the islanders no more than 5 minutes, and we could only marvel at how quickly and skillfully it was done. A lot of the food was prepared with coconut and other fruits and ingredients from the island, and as you will see, the food at the resort was truly fantastic! I usually eat vegetarian as much as possible, but for these 2 weeks in Fiji, I thought I would go with the flow, and I ended up having almost every meal with meat or preferably fish, as the vegetarian options weren't as exciting.

On my departure day, I still had time until 3 PM, so I went for a small hike early in the morning. Right on the island, there was a small peak that could be climbed in about 30 minutes on foot. From up there, I had a fantastic view and could see the entire blue surrounding the island.

From this luxury, I then moved on to a homestay on an island further south. Here I was able to learn much more about the culture, and it was a truly unique experience!
