Abel Tasman Boat-Track

Published: 17.06.2024

Friends of water,

It's that time again and I'm heading back to the endless blue. I already explained to you in the last post that I didn't feel like doing any more long hikes, so I went on the boat that day. The tour was scheduled to take about 3.5 hours and, as is often the case, I was pretty lucky with the weather, because the sun shone the whole time.

There is not really much to say about the boat trip, so in this post I will let the pictures of the different bays, beaches and the sea speak for themselves.

The last stop on the trip was Toraranui Beach. During the entire boat trip, there were a few facts about the bays and their history, but unfortunately they were only played through the loudspeakers in a poor way.

View of the water

The views were really beautiful and I really enjoyed watching them from the boat. Of course I got a little sunburn on my face, but to be honest I expected that and only put sunscreen on my face after about 2 hours because I was just enjoying the view beforehand.

After the lovely trip, we went to the campsite in Motueka for the night and the next day I arranged to meet the Scottish woman at the Sunday market in Motueka. There we had a really delicious caramel macchiato and I bought the tastiest sourdough bread in New Zealand so far. I also walked through the city centre with the Scottish woman and we chatted for a few hours in the city. It was a really nice day.

Coffee Cup House in Motueka

In addition to bread, I also found a house in Motuaka that reminded me incredibly of home. You can guess three times why. ;)

Directly after the market, we went to the most beautiful campsite in New Zealand so far: Mariua Springs. The most beautiful because this is a place where I could park right next to the hot springs and the associated sauna area. I'll tell you a little more about that in the next post.

Your Britta
