BULGARIA, Part 4: The world-famous Rila Monastery

An excursion with a locally organized rental car then took me on a relatively calm and relaxed drive from Bansko over the Predel Pass and through the expansive Struma Valley to the world-famous Rila Monastery. Being able to visit something so enchanting is not something you experience every day on your travels. The visual spectacle with its biblical depictions on the ceilings and walls under the arcades had particularly captivated me. And so, without wanting to lose many words in this post, I invite my dear readers to take a photographic tour of the monastery with me.
