It was a calm night on board, and after a beautiful sunrise, we start our tour of St. Kitts & Nevis, a very fertile volcanic island. A brief city walk through Basseterre reminds us of the time when the French and English still shared the island. The landmark is the English Berkeley Memorial Clocktower. At Independence Square, St. George’s Anglican Church rises in Georgian style. Our island tour begins in an open panoramic bus, offering fascinating views. At Frigate Bay, located on a narrow strip between the Caribbean and the Atlantic, we find the perfect place for a cool down - with a water temperature of 26 degrees 😉. The first carnival groups are already out and showcase their dances. I got to join in a round of dancing. Back on board, we have time to relax and prepare for dinner and the acrobatic show. At 11:15 PM, all the lights on deck are turned off by Costa, and the view is clear for the starry sky.
