After breakfast, we will take the fisherman's boat to the neighboring island of Kho Phi Phi Le, to Maya Bay. The movie 'The Beach' with Leonardo DiCaprio was filmed on this island in 2000. The island consists of very steep limestone cliffs, two bays, and caves. The Maya Bay and Loh Samah Bay. In the northeast of the island is the Wai King Cave, where swallow nests used to be collected. These nests are a delicacy in Thailand and China and are used for soups and desserts, and are considered to be beneficial for health. The price for 1 kg is approximately €5,800. Our first stop is in front of Maya Bay, where we take the opportunity to swim with the fish in the turquoise water. The fish are bustling around us. It is a unique experience. Swimming is not allowed directly at Maya Bay. Here, you can stay for half an hour and just walk around. We will skip this and continue to the Wai King Cave. In a small bay, we can still see a fishing village. We will circle Kho Phi Phi. We can jump into the dreamy water two more times. However, there are fewer fish swimming with us. The water here is very calm, so it is possible to take beautiful photos of the coral reefs from the boat. Michi dives and brings up a huge shell. It weighs about 2 kg. We enjoyed this trip very much and return hungry. After the meal, we will relax.
