10 days sea view

The craftsman actually showed up at 8:30 a.m. with an old Mustang, took photos everywhere and unpacked his tools. The two cleaning people also came, as promised. I went out with Paul and first bought the basic culinary equipment. Dietmar is trying acupuncture today. After 3 hours the hut looked nicer. Paul worked on the laptop for a bit and I walked through the streets and greeted Guaymas, the city from which three Mexican presidents came.

Well, what can I say? In some corners, when the wind blew the empty cans behind me, kicked up the dust, or caused a heavy iron gate to squeak on its hinges, I thought of "Play me the song of death." It was siesta time and there were hardly any people to be seen, but colorful huts, tightly packed, heavy iron gates in front, dirt and garbage, dusty streets, burrito sellers on the edge and always OXXO (Mexico's Späti, open 24 hours a day), a cemetery - like that completely different. Street dogs dozed peacefully in the shade.

At some point I arrived at the sea, in the center. The impression remained - no high-rise developments, not a single hotel, dingy huts, the water murky. But my eyes enjoyed the colors and the space, the peace and serenity, the friendliness of the people. I saw hummingbirds and brown pelicans and returned home hungry to cook with Paul.
