We are sitting on the night bus to Erzurum, in the very east of Türkiye. The road takes us along the wild Black Sea coast and the sun is slowly setting. Yesterday evening I spoke for a long time on the phone with a very dear friend from Germany and she said that it was brave to set off and follow this path into the world with little security in my luggage.
I don't think it takes courage, but rather the confidence that no matter where you are, people will treat you openly. It takes a focus on the beautiful things and not looking for what doesn't work. And you need the desire to go out and record with all your senses, your intuition and your emotions. Everything that was very difficult for us in Germany right now.
It takes courage to recognize when you can't go on at a point in your life, to change things and to put all your feelings of guilt on the hook for a while - so that you can continue to make the world a little better later in a healthy way and with new impulses close.
