Almost in jail with one leg😂

Published: 15.10.2017

Good evening to Germany, wow, today was a great and exciting day🙃🙉. After a delicious breakfast on the outdoor terrace - overlooking the river - we headed towards the temple. Unfortunately, the ferry only took us to the 6th stop today, so we had to walk a few more meters to the 1st temple. We found that a bit strange 🙅, but we knew that Bangkok is in a state of mourning. The first temple was Wat Pho. Overwhelming is all I can say, I loved it. The pagodas, chedis, and temples were beautifully decorated. 😍As we walked through the garden, we noticed all the people. Government officials, military, monks, etc., and they all positioned themselves in a certain place. Then a marching band and a procession of high-ranking officers arrived.

A Thai man informed us. The new king was coming to pray. Wow, and we were there in person, it was a bit goosebumps-inducing. Daniela asked him when the king would arrive. In two hours.😉 Help, since the sun was out a lot today and it was incredibly hot, we decided to go to the next temple instead.

That was the Wat Saket temple with the famous 318 stairs. But they weren't bad at all, they were nice and flat. The view from the top was fantastic. 🤓

After this temple, we wanted to go to Khao San Road. There are tons of bars, shops, street food, etc. A must for tourists. 🍹

So I arranged for a tuk-tuk for us. He sped off and suddenly all the traffic had to stop. Several police officers closed the streets and we were in pole position with our tuk-tuk. We suspected it, the king was on his way: state cars and police motorcycles with sirens came. The king was being escorted to the temple. Holla, I quickly took out my phone and even filmed the car with the king, until suddenly some stupid policeman said to me. No phone. Okay, then 'no phone' and I put it away. When it was announced that the streets were open again, our tuk-tuk driver had to pull over to the left and I had to give my phone to the policeman. He insisted that I delete the video. Well, I did it, I wanted to point out the trash can to him, but then he took my phone and checked my history. Then he gave me back my phone. He said 'thank you very much' and smiled. Hm, clever is different, the video is still in the trash bin :-)))). Daniela already imagined me in jail :-))). But not for that, especially since there was nowhere that said you couldn't film. 🙈

Well then, our tuk-tuk took us to Khao San Road, where I tried my first street food dish. It was delicious.

We walked along KSR and looked at the things you can buy there. I actually wanted to eat grasshoppers, but I was still so full. But who knows, maybe it will happen!!!

We took the last ferry at 7:15 PM back to the hotel and freshened up for the late evening.

About 1 km away from us is a mall with a Ferris wheel right on the river. I really wanted to go on it. So I quickly bought two tickets. I will mention by the way, heights are not really my thing :-(). It didn't take 5 minutes and we were already sitting in a gondola. The view was fantastic, especially since everything was beautifully lit and the view of the river was just amazing! I survived it, with a bit of nausea 😉!

We walked around a bit more and then returned to the hotel. We are exhausted now. But we keep laughing about the phone incident. :-)

Good night 😴

Schön, wie lebendig du erzählst. Dadurch bin ich selbst wieder in Bangkok. Das Erlebnis mit dem Königsvideo ist ein zusätzliches Erlebnis, das ihr nicht vergessen werdet.
